Distant, unreachable love, passion, despair, longing, death
The album name UT refers to the Swedish word for being outside, going out, or being without someone, utanför. It also refers to the first note of the scale in medieval music theory. Gamut – Gamma ut!
The texts of UT speak of the same subjects- loving, longing, farewell, no matter if we are on the shores of the 13th century Iberian peninsula, echoing the Galician-Portuguese lyric troubadour poetry, or in the deep forests of Finland, sitting by a lake, thus making the album a beautiful exchange of thoughts between centuries of human spirit and emotion.
Where are you my beloved, are you still alive? Where is my child? Will we ever meet again?

Voor mij zit de kracht van het ensemble niet alleen in hun imponerende arsenaal van klanken en vaardigheden, maar zeker ook in het feit dat zij goed weten wanneer stilte het meest spreekt. Early Music Achievement of the Year 2020
On Early Music Day, 21 March 2021, UT was awarded the ‘Vuoden vanhan musiikin teko 2020’ (“Early music achievement of the year 2020”) prize, awarded yearly by Suomen vanhan musiikin liitto Svamuli ry (Finnish Early Music Association).
UT vie kuulijan jonnekin maapallon ajattomalle kiertoradalle, ehkä jopa pidemmälle, kellumaan linnunradan galaktiseen linnunmaitoon, jossa menneisyys ja tulevaisuus ovat yhtä ja samaa – valoa ja pimeää ainetta.

On 3 January 2022, UT was nominated for the Album of the Year 2021 (Vuoden levy 2021) by Finnish national broadcaster Yle. The prize was awarded to Laura Hynninen: Otilia.
